Streets of Unomachi

This street is lined with townhouses from the end of the Edo period to the early Showa period. During the feudal period, it flourished as a local town of the Uwajima Domain. Traditional architectural styles such as white walls, udatsu, half-light shutters, and latticed windows remain. As the street was also used by Ninomiya Keisaku and Kusumoto Ine, it is always crowded with tourists.
