Hoketsu Pass

This 436m high pass is on the border between Uwa Town and Yoshida Town in Uwajima City. Below you spreads a magnificent panorama of terraced fields and the deep blue Uwa Sea. On a clear day, it's a great vantage point from which you can see the ria coast of the Uwa Sea and even Kyushu in the distance, and it's also designated as part of Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park. From the observation deck and the top of the chert cliffs, you can get a spectacular view of the ria coast of the Uwa Sea and the islands.
